This crop comes from an altitude of up to 1900 meters above sea level, in a fertile land that is ideal for growing coffee cherries in Uganda, specifically in Kinga Kiyanza Province.
The Mananasi story begins when the Great Lakes Coffee team conducted a unique social experiment that deserves to be told, the team decided to work from an area known for producing Arabica coffee of low quality and cheap compared to its counterparts in Uganda. These small groups are rewarded with a financial reward according to the unit, the higher the quality of the coffee, the higher the wage of the working group, and the leading farmer receives an additional reward for the double training he provides to his colleagues as an incentive and guarantee of the knowledge he efficiently imparts to them during the training.
Red Cherry Program
It is the next stage of the ongoing quality improvement that has been progressively in recent years.
This program focuses primarily on quality first and foremost, by instructing farmers to pick only ripe cherries, then dry the coffee on raised beds, and after the coffee is completely dried, it is sent to the processing plant to remove all possible defects in the coffee, to ensure a clean and clear cup of coffee.
