Description
The Red Bourbon Natural is a signature coffee at Finca Majahual and one of the farm's most beloved lots. Grown at high elevation in the Los Naranjos Valley, these Red Bourbon cherries benefit from rich volcanic soil and the valley’s cool oceanic microclimate, allowing for slow and even maturation.
This hand-harvested coffee is naturally processed entirely on-site, with cherries dried slowly on raised beds over approximately 26 days, before moving to a greenhouse to stabilize moisture. This gentle drying brings out the coffee’s expressive character while preserving balance and clarity.
In the cup: cocoa nibs, rooibos tea, and date syrup—deep, smooth, and fruit-forward. The natural process amplifies sweetness and complexity, creating a layered profile equally suited to filter and espresso. Patrick Murray calls this coffee Majahual’s "crown jewel," a standout varietal that has earned glowing feedback from roasters and baristas worldwide.
At Finca Majahual, this coffee reflects both heritage and forward-thinking craftsmanship. Processing on-site ensures full control over quality while supporting the farm’s mission to create meaningful impact through coffee. Proceeds from this lot help fund local healthcare, education, and infrastructure projects. Each cup embodies the belief that exceptional coffee can drive lasting value for both people and place
